Jammu, Sept 3: Jammu and Kashmir BJP Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, hailed India’s diplomatic triumph at the recently concluded Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China, where member nations collectively condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and aligned with India’s uncompromising stance against terrorism. Balbir Ram Rattan said that in a landmark declaration issued at the end of the summit, SCO nations — including major powers like China, Russia, and Central Asian Republics — voiced a firm commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms, without exception or justification. Pakistan too attended this Summit. Balbir Ram Rattan said that the declaration’s strong rejection of “double standards” marked a pivotal moment in India’s persistent efforts to evolve a global consensus on counter terrorism. This is a resounding diplomatic victory for India, said Balbir Ram Rattan, adding that the condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and endorsement of our long-standing call against selective approaches to terrorism highlight the growing respect for India’s principled stand on international platforms. Balbir Ram Rattan, expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who led India’s delegation at the Summit, for strongly raising the issue of the Pahalgam attack. Balbir said that the SCO’s alignment with India’s position reflects the nation’s rising global stature and strategic credibility under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The global fight against terrorism cannot succeed unless nations abandon double standards. The SCO’s stance mirrors what India has been saying for years — that terrorism anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere, he added. This development not only isolates the perpetrators of terrorism but also those who seek to justify or shield such acts. India’s proactive diplomacy at the Summit reaffirms its commitment to global peace, regional cooperation, and a terror-free future, he said. |
