Early Times Report RAMGARH, Sept 6: Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Hon'ble MLA Ramgarh and Former Minister for Health and Medical Education, J&K, conducted an extensive tour of various villages and government institutions in Ramgarh Constituency, covering CHC Ramgarh, PHC Sanoora, Government Schools, Rajpura, Swankha, Ramgarh, Bainglar, Mandal, and adjoining villages. During his visit, Dr. Manyal reviewed the extensive damage caused by recent floods in Basanter Nallah and Devika River, which have left large deposits of sand in agricultural land in Bainglar, Kamore, and surrounding areas. Farmers expressed deep concern over their crops and cultivable land being repeatedly damaged due to recurring floods. This is not the first time the people of Ramgarh and Rajpura blocks are facing such devastation. The issue of flood damage, sand deposition, and destruction of fertile land has been a long-standing challenge for the region. For years, local farmers have been raising demands for a permanent solution, yet the problem continues to disrupt agricultural activity season after season. Dr. Manyal, while interacting with local residents, assured them of every possible step to bring relief and directed the officers concerned to take immediate measures for cleaning, restoration, and rehabilitation. He also emphasized that long-term flood management and preventive measures must be taken up on priority to safeguard the interests of the farming community. During the tour, Dr. Manyal held meetings with officers including XEN PWD, Tehsildar Ramgarh, Tehsildar Rajpura, AEE R&B, BDO Ramgarh, and BDO Rajpura, and instructed them to coordinate relief operations and expedite repair works in flood-hit areas.
