Akhnoor, Sept 8: Senior BJP leader and District Development Council Member Pandit Suresh Sharma today visited several flood-affected areas of Chhamb Constituency, including Panchayat Kaneri, Ghar, Majoor, Dhanna Jalada, Gharatal, Kathar and Queer, to assess the damages caused by heavy rains. During his visit, Sharma met local residents who shared their grievances, stating that no official from the administration had reached them so far and that no tents or immediate relief had been provided. People told him that their houses had been damaged, agricultural land washed away, and they were left with neither shelter nor land for farming. Listening to their concerns with seriousness, Sharma assured all possible help. He further said that he would strongly take up the matter with the government, demanding that safe land be allotted for the affected families and adequate financial assistance be provided to help them rebuild their lives. Highlighting the widespread destruction caused by the rains, Sharma noted that several houses had collapsed, crops were destroyed, roads had been cut off, and water pipelines and electricity poles had been washed away. He said he was in constant touch with the administration to ensure restoration of essential services at the earliest. Prominent BJP leader Dr. Ramlal Sharma, Mandal President Gulshan Kumar, former Sarpanch Harbans Lal, former Sarpanch Chunni Lal, Bodh Raj, Capt. Jagdish Sharma, Mohan Lal, Parshottam Lal, Vijay Kumar, Sardari Lal, Babu Ram, Sandeep Sharma, and others were present.
