Conduct of Battlefield Nursing Assistant Cadre for J&K Police at Akhnoor | | | early times report
Jammu, Sept 10: The Indian Army conducted a Battlefield Nursing Assistant (BFNA) Cadre for 40 personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Akhnoor with the aim of enhancing first-aid preparedness in battlefield and emergency situations. The cadre focused on equipping police personnel with essential lifesaving skills required during combat operations as well as civil emergencies. Training included management of bleeding, airway obstruction, fractures, shock and casualty evacuation under battlefield conditions. Practical demonstrations, interactive sessions and realistic simulations were employed to ensure participants gained confidence in handling medical emergencies in high-pressure environments. This initiative underscores the commitment of the Indian Army towards building jointness, interoperability and synergy between security forces operating in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the J&K Police and highlighted the significance of such training in improving operational effectiveness and first-responder capabilities. Police personnel expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army, noting that the skills acquired would be invaluable in both operational duties and civil life-saving scenarios.
