CCI raise serious issue of infrastructure crises | | | early times report
JAMMU, Sept 15: The Chamber of Commerce & Industry(CCI) today raised serious concerns about the dilapidated state of roads and essential services across the Jammu region. In a meeting of Office bearers CCI President Sh. Arun Gupta highlighted the urgent need for permanent solution to the infrastructure crises. Almost all the roads, lanes and the drainage system including the national highway, are in a bad condition said Sh. Arun Gupta. This is due to continuous heavy rains and flash floods which are severely hampering the free movement of vehicular traffic and general public, said Arun Gupta He acknowledge the government temporary efforts to fill deep ditches with muddy waste material. However, he warned that this would not last long and would simply wash away during the next rain fall. The government must implement permanent corrective measures to find a lasting solution he stated. Sh. Arun Gupta also pointed out that the water supplies is another critical sector that has been completely damaged in and around Jammu. People are suffering badly, he said. The CCI President demanded that the government take necessary steps on war footing to ease and rectify the hardships facing the common people.
