Jammu, Sept 17: As per the directives of the Railway Board, the "Cleanliness is Service" campaign will be observed across the Jammu Division from September 17 to October 2, 2025. During this campaign, various activities will be organized every day across the division. On the first day of the campaign, September 17, 2025, Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Vivek Kumar administered the "Cleanliness Pledge" to railway employees and sanitation workers. Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Mr. Akshay Kumar Marntu, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Mr. Anshul Kumar, Senior Divisional Signal and Telecommunications Engineer Mr. Sandeep Bharti, Senior Divisional Engineer Mr. Abhinav Garg, and other railway employees were also present. Public awareness regarding cleanliness was also raised during this campaign. Workshops and sessions will follow. In the coming days, the following events include Safai Mitra Suraksha Camps, marathons, cyclothons, and walkathons to promote fitness and cleanliness, tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, Swachhata Samvaads, meetings, and door-to-door awareness campaigns, "Shramdaan" at stations and colonies, the Clean Food Initiative, which includes demonstrations on how to clean pantry cars and utensils, and inspections of waste disposal systems. The Swachh Bharat Cultural Festival, which spreads the message of cleanliness through culture, competitions (painting, essay, and quiz) for the Swachh Bharat Mission, cleaning and upgrading public toilets at stations and trains, cleaning of base kitchens/restaurants/food stalls/pantry cars, and large-scale cleanliness drives in offices, institutional buildings, railway schools, railway tracks, stations, trains, and water bodies (rivers, lakes, ponds, drains, etc.) on railway premises. Divisional Railway Manager Shri Vivek Kumar stated, "This is a nationwide campaign, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, our collective effort to honor the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and make cleanliness a lifestyle for all." It has been launched to strengthen the resolve."
