Doda tops Jammu zone in recovering lost, stolen mobiles

DODA, Sept 17: As per the statement issued by J&K Police District Doda it was told that, Cyber Police Station Doda of J&K Police District Doda under the supervision of SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta JKPS lead by Insp. Surinder Veer and PSI Ankush Nagra ( Nodal CEIR), quoting the report of GoI, Ministry of Communication, Dept. of Telecommunication, J&K, District Doda has emerged as the best performing districts of Jammu Zone to affect THE RECOVERY OF LOST AND STOLEN MOBILE through CEIR Portal. Further team has exhibited highest level of professionalism, technical accumen and commitment in combating cybercrime by successfully solving and recovering online defrauded money amounting Rs. 8,00,835/- and also recovered 57 lost Mobile Phones whose estimated value is around *RS 8,87,715 /- from different States/ UTs of the country.
In a press conference held at DPO Doda, SSP Sandeep Mehta said that during the course of investigation, Cyber Police Station team, exhibited hectic efforts and advanced technical skills with the help of ESU unit lead by PSI Sahil Kumar which ultimately led to the successful recovery of defrauded amount of Rs. 8,00,835/- and recovered 57 lost Mobile Phones whose estimated value is around RS 8,87,715/-.
Mr Mehta handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners at District Police Headquarters Doda. SSP Doda appealed the general public to take utmost care of their mobiles as they contain personal data and there is every possibility of misuse of Mobile Phones. Upon receiving their missing/ lost mobile phones, the owners felt elated and expressed their gratitude towards the District Police Doda for their arduous effort in tracing their missing mobiles.
SSP Doda reiterated in his appeal to the general public to remain extra vigilant and report promptly to the National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and in case of Lost/Stolen Mobile report on www.ceir.gov.in.
Mentionable here that Cyber Police Station Doda has successfully recovered huge de -frauded money amount *Rs.56,77,173 /- and also successfully recovered 276 Mobile Phones amounting Rs.47,29,688 /- so far.
