| Dogri Deptt Jammu University organizes symposium | | |

jammu, Sept 17: Sahitya Akademi New Delhi in collaboration with Dogri department of Jammu university Jammu, organized one day symposium on famous Dogri poet Tara Samelpuri.
Inaugural season was presided by Om Goswami and chief guest was prof.Sushma Sharma,Head of the Dogri Department Jammu university Jammu. Welcome address and Introductory Note was presented by Mohan Singh convenor Dogri advisory board Sahitya Akademi new Delhi.
Key note address was presented by Prakash Premi and vote of thanks was presented by Dr.Sandeep Sufi.
In the beginning, Mohan Singh convenor Dogri advisory board Sahitya Akademi new Delhi, welcomed all the distinguished guests and spoke about the poet Tara Samelpuri.
He said that Tara Samelpuri was the poet of people and for people.
He was so popular in rural areas of Duggar through his poetry. Belongs to village Samelpur a village falls now in Samba district was famous for poets and politicians. A famous poet Krishan Samalpuri was also belongs to Samelpur and a famous politician from Jammu known as Prem Nath Dogra was also from Samelpur.
Tara Samelpuri was a versatile actor also and was popular for his role of an old lady in a Dogri play Nama Gran.
Apart from inaugural season, there was two season more. 1st season was chaired by Randhir Singh Raipuria and paper readers were Dr. PadamDev Singh and Sanvedhna Sharma. 2nd season was chaired by Jitender Udhampuri and the paper readers were Ajay Singh and Rakesh Verma.
