GDC Darhal organises pledge ceremony on Anti Drug, Cleaniness | | |  early times report
Darhal, Sept 17: The NSS and NCC units of Govt. Degree College Darhal today organized a pledge ceremony on Anti-Drugs and Cleanliness as part of the “Sewa Parv” initiative, under the guidance of Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal of the College. The program aimed to spread awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in everyday life. All staff members and students participated actively and took a solemn pledge to abstain from drugs, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and contribute towards keeping their surroundings clean and green. Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza emphasized the vital role of youth in building a drug-free and clean society. He encouraged students to act as torchbearers of positive change by rejecting harmful substances and promoting hygiene and environmental responsibility. On the occasion, Dr. Anzaar Ahmed, Head of the Department of Arabic and NCC Officer of the College, delivered a detailed lecture on Anti-Drugs and Cleanliness, highlighting the disastrous effects of drug abuse on health and society, as well as the importance of hygiene and a clean environment for a healthy community. The program was coordinated by Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Programme Officer, NSS Wing. Prominent faculty members including Dr. Ghulam Abass, Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Atta Ul Rehman, Prof. Beenish Majid, and Dr. Raja Shahid also participated in the ceremony and extended their support to the cause. The event concluded with a collective resolve to work together for a healthier, drug-free, and clean nation.
