KATHUA, Sept 17: To commemorate the timeless ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Literary Committee of GDC, Kathua under the patronage of the worthy Principal of the college, Dr. Savi Bhel and convener ship of Dr. Neeraj Sharma successfully organized an Intra College on the spot Painting Competition on Gandhian Values today. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 12 students.
The theme of the event was Milestones of the Freedom Struggle. Participants vividly expressed Gandhi's philosophy of truth, non-violence, simplicity, and self-reliance through their artworks. Themes such as the Dandi March, Quit India Movement were beautifully depicted on canvas, reflecting the creativity and awareness of the younger generation.
The panel of judges included Prof. R. K Pandita, Head Department of Zoology, Prof. Ravinder Kour, department of Physics and Dr. R.K Manhas Department of Botany who evaluated the entries based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme. Ms. Tania Rajput, Semester V and Ms. Vanshika Semester I secured the first prize, Ms. Naina Devi bagged second prize and Mr. Danish Sharma stood third, a consolation prize was also given to Ms. Palak semester of Semester III. All participants received certificates of appreciation for their efforts.
