JAMMU, Sept 17: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has welcomed the decision of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board to resume the yatra. Sahni said that by resuming the pilgrimage before the biggest religious festival of Hindus, the Shrine Board has respected the religious faith.
The pilgrimage was suspended on August 26 when a major landslide occurred on the route leading to the cave temple, killing 34 pilgrims and injuring 20 others.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) said in a post on X, "Jai Mata Di... Vaishno Devi Yatra will resume from September 17, 2025 (Wednesday) under favorable weather conditions. Devotees are requested to stay updated through official communication channels." |
