CHANDIGARH, Sept 17: The Department of Home Science at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised 'Dharohar'- a vibrant talent hunt dedicated to preserving and promoting India's rich cultural legacy. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines, who showcased their creativity and craftsmanship through traditional embroideries such as Phulkari, Bagh, and Dasuti, along with other heritage crafts including Ennu making, Pranda, Naala making, Guddiyan Patole, Crochet, Rangoli, and Mehandi designing. Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the remarkable creativity of the participants. She lauded the efforts of the Department of Home Science in fostering awareness and appreciation among the younger generation for traditional arts and cultural practices that embody the nation's history and identity. "This talent hunt not only unearthed treasures from our past but also instilled in students a sense of belonging and deep respect for our roots," she remarked. |
