Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 17: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded a complete ban on the sale of meat shops and keeping them closed during the biggest religious festival of Hindus, the Holy Navratri wef September 22. A team of party leaders led by state chief Manish Sahni met the Jammu District Magistrate and submitted a memorandum regarding their above demands. Sahni said in a special conversation with media persons that the Holy Navratri is starting from 22 September 2025, it is the biggest religious festival of Hindus. During this, fasts are observed, pure vegetarian food is consumed. Sahni said that religious sentiments will be hurt by the opening and sale of meat shops during these aholy days. Therefore, we urge the administration and meat sellers not to open meat shops otherwise any untoward incident can happen and due to this a situation of communal tension can arise. |
