Kathua, Sept 19: In a joint initiative to spread awareness against the growing menace of drug abuse, District Police Kathua in collaboration with Government Degree College, Kathua, organized a Nukkad Natak on the theme “Say No to Drugs” under their Civic Action Programme. The event was held under the overall guidance of Prof. Savi Behl, Principal, GDC Kathua.
The program aimed at sensitizing youth about the devastating effects of drug addiction, which has emerged as one of the most pressing challenges for society today. With the younger generation being the primary target and victim of this social evil, such awareness campaigns are the need of the hour.
The highlight of the event was a captivating performance by the renowned Natak Mandali artists, whose impactful acting and storytelling held the audience spellbound. Their thought-provoking depiction of the dangers of drug abuse resonated deeply with students and faculty alike, successfully conveying the core message of the campaign.
The event was graced by the distinguished presence of SP Rahul Charak, DSP HQ Ravinder Singh, and SHO Kathua Sh. Sandeep Singh, accompanied by their dedicated team. Their encouragement and proactive involvement reflected the commitment of Kathua Police towards eradicating the scourge of drugs from society.
In his address SP Rahul Charak emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the youth from falling prey to drug addiction. He lauded the initiative as an effective step in channelizing student awareness into positive action.
