Humanity Public School organizes Rakhi making, fancy dress competition | | |  early times report
Jammu/Samba, Sept 19: In a vibrant celebration of creativity, tradition, and imagination, Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana hosted a Rakhi Making Competition and a Fancy Dress Competition bringing together students in a joyful showcase of talent and festivity. There was an Inter-House Rakhi Making Competition among the four houses namely Akash, Prithvi, Agni and Trishool in which students of different classes express their artistic skills while honoring the spirit of Raksha Bandhan - a festival that celebrates the cherished bond between brothers and sisters. Participants used colorful threads, beads, mirrors, and eco-friendly materials to craft beautiful rakhis, each reflecting a unique blend of tradition and innovation. In this competition Trishool house's students-Suchita Kashyap (7th), Gurbani Sharma (7th), Nitara Bhagat (8th), Angel Gupta (9th) and Manvi Sharma (9th) got first position whereas Kirti Pathania (8th), Sonia Rajput (9th), Vasundara Singh (9th), Navya Bhadouria(9th) and Janvi Pathania (10th) of Agni House stood at second position. Parbinder Kour (3rd), Aaradhya Sharma (3rd), Manan Bamotra (7th), Rohan Deep Kour (10th) and Aditi Sangra (10th) of Prithvi House won 3rd position respectively. Simultaneously, the Fancy Dress Competition provided a platform for students to transform into characters from mythology, national heroes, fairy tales, and even social messages. The event was filled with color, energy, and creativity as participants confidently took to the stage in imaginative costumes and delivered engaging performances on the eve of Independence Day. The participants were dressed as freedom fighters. Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and displayed their confidence while speaking. Their innocent words and stage presence won the hearts of teachers and judges. In fancy dress competition Mehpreet Kour (4th class) stood at 1st position portraying Rani Durgawati and Pranshi Singh (4th Class) got 2nd position portraying Sarojini Naidu whereas Arman Bhagat (5th Class) won 3rd position portraying Jawahar Lal Nehru. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents. The winners of Rakhi Making Competition and Fancy Dress Competition were awarded with merit certificates. These competitions were organised under the supervision of Ms. Namrta Sharma, High Wing Incharge and Ms Vandana Sharma, Primary Wing Incharge. Principal, Mr. Gaurav Charak praised the efforts of all participants, saying, "These competitions not only nurture creativity and confidence but also help students stay connected to our rich cultural heritage.” Vice Principal, Mrs. Anku Charak also appreciated the efforts of the students and further added such activities provide unique platform to improve their communication skills in addition to improving their confidence.
