Early Times Report RAMNAGAR, Sept 20: The Debate and Symposium Committee and NCORD Cell of Government Degree College Ramnagar organized a Quiz Competition on the "Life and Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi" as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The event aimed at sensitizing the students about Gandhiji's ideals of truth, non-violence, simplicity, and self-reliance, which continue to guide society even today. A total of 8 students participated enthusiastically in the competition and showcased their knowledge about Mahatma Gandhi's life, principles, and his role in India's freedom struggle. The event provided a platform for the students to reflect upon the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in the present-day context. Joginder Paul of Semester 1st was declared the winner. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, in his address, appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged the students to imbibe the values of honesty, non-violence, and tolerance in their lives. He remarked that Gandhiji's vision of moral courage, selfless service, and truth is the need of the hour to build a peaceful and progressive society. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Ritika Mahajan (Convenor, Debate and Symposium Committee) and Dr. Sham Singh (Convenor, NCORD Cell). The Committee members-Dr. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Anice Ahmad, Sanjay Malhotra, and Prof. Tanmeet Kour-played a pivotal role in the smooth conduct of the event. The event concluded with words of encouragement for the students to carry forward the teachings of the Father of the Nation in their academic and personal lives. |
