GDC Ramgarh celebrates Sewa Parv and Gandhi Jayanti 2025

RAMGARH, Sept 20: Government Degree College, Ramgarh, under the aegis of the Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, UT of Jammu and Kashmir, celebrated Sewa Parv and Gandhi Jayanti 2025 with great zeal, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of social commitment. The events were organized under the esteemed guidance of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol. The celebrations began with a rally organized on the themes "Nasha Mukt Bharat" and "Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K." The event was Headed by Dr. Snobar, Head of the Department of Punjabi, along with Mr. Darpan Malhotra, Head of the Department of Computer Applications. Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically, marching with posters/placards and raising slogans to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the urgent need to eradicate corruption. The initiative reflected the Gandhian ideals of truth, non-violence, and social responsibility. The participants vowed to contribute towards a cleaner, healthier, and more ethical society in line with the vision of Mahatma Gandhi. Following the rally, a workshop was conducted as part of the Sewa Parv celebrations. The workshop was organized by the of Head of Department (Punjabi), Dr. Snobar , along with Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, HoD Environmental Sciences. As part of the celebration, an awareness lecture was delivered by Dr. Bisat Tariq on the theme "Adult Literacy Program: Evaluation and Motivation of Learners." Dr. Bisat Tariq highlighted the importance of adult education in empowering communities, bridging generational knowledge gaps, and fostering inclusive development. She further emphasized the role of motivation and evaluation in sustaining adult literacy programs and ensuring effective learner engagement. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members, who interacted actively during the session. The speakers inspired the audience to contribute towards literacy awareness and community service, reflecting the true spirit of Sewa Parv. The events concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, who acknowledged the efforts of the organizing teams and appreciated the enthusiastic involvement of the participants.
