Jammu, Sept 29: The Inner Wheel Clubs of Jammu — IWC Jammu, IWC New Gen Jammu, IWC Jammu Tawi, IWC Sampark, and IWC Kesariya — jointly organized a community service initiative on 19 September 2025 to mark the official visit of District Chairman Mrs. Preeti Khajuria. The program was conducted under the guidance of District Chairman Mrs. Khajuria and the leadership of the respective Club Presidents. On this occasion, the clubs donated ‘Meri Kitab’ books to local schools, sewing machines to underprivileged women, and wheelchairs to the needy, continuing their legacy of service and commitment towards education, women empowerment, and community welfare. The specially curated books, aimed at enhancing learning and reading habits among children, were warmly welcomed by young students. Teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the club members for the thoughtful contribution, noting that such initiatives play a vital role in motivating children in government schools where resources are often limited. Alongside educational support, the event emphasized women empowerment and livelihood opportunities. The donated sewing machines will enable beneficiaries to pursue tailoring as a source of income, fostering self-reliance and financial independence. Speaking at the event, District Chairman Mrs. Preeti Khajuria highlighted the importance of holistic community service: “While education shapes the future of children, vocational support ensures that women, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, are able to stand on their own feet.” She commended the collective efforts of club members in executing the program successfully and urged community members to step forward in extending similar support. The Inner Wheel movement has always stood for meaningful change in society, working across areas like education, healthcare, and women empowerment. Mrs. Khajuria reiterated the clubs’ commitment to continue such initiatives in the future to uplift underprivileged sections of society. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the Inner Wheel motto of “Friendship and Service”, leaving behind smiles, hope, and encouragement among students and beneficiaries.
