CTF interacts with Controller & Joint Controller, Legal Metrology - Focus on GST Relief Benefits for Consumers

JAMMU, Sept 29: The Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF), Jammu, hosted Sh. Rajinder Singh Tara, Controller Legal Metrology, and Sh. Manoj Prabhakar, Joint Controller Legal Metrology, at its office today. The dignitaries were warmly received by Sh. Neeraj Anand, President CTF, along with the Executive Team, who welcomed them with bouquets and shawls.
Trade Heads of various associations affiliated with CTF also joined the interactive session. The deliberations focused on ensuring that the benefits of GST relief are effectively passed on to the common consumers.
President CTF, Neeraj Anand, recalled that when Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi announced the reduction of GST rates to two slabs - 5% and 18% - from the Red Fort on 15th August, the Federation immediately called for its proper implementation. With the revised GST regime coming into effect from 22nd September, the first day of Shardiya Navratri, Jammu has witnessed smooth implementation due to coordinated efforts of traders, administration, and the Legal Metrology Department.
Addressing the gathering, Controller Legal Metrology Sh. Rajinder Singh Tara ji appreciated the proactive role of CTF and its allied associations in creating awareness and ensuring compliance. He further apprised members that the department has already undertaken 140 inspections and 32 awareness camps across Jammu n Kashmir to guarantee that the benefits of reduced GST genuinely reach consumers. He also urged all Trade Heads for voluntary compliance to avoid any departmental action, reiterating that the department is committed to progressive measures for consumer welfare.
Anand assured the Controller LM of CTF's continued cooperation in promoting transparency, compliance, and consumer-friendly business practices. Other Prominent members those who were present in the Meeting are Shiv kumar Gupta, Raman Gupta, Tushar Mahajan, Dinesh Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Sachin Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Pooja Kapoor, Vijay Gupta, Sanjeev Pargal, Subash Gandotra and others.
