Jammu, Oct 2: The Home for the Aged & Infirm, Ambphalla, Jammu, in collaboration with Savitri Devi Jagiri Lal Charitable Trust, Jammu, has launched a new facility of free Physiotherapy Services and a Medical Allopathic Dispensary within the premises of the Home. The noble initiative was formally inaugurated by Shri Sat Pal Sharma, Former Minister and President, J&K BJP, along with Shri Yudhvir Sethi, MLA, Jammu East.
In his inaugural address, Shri Sat Pal Sharma lauded the charitable gesture and expressed appreciation for the Trust’s commitment towards extending much-needed medical and physiotherapy facilities to the elderly and the underprivileged. He emphasized that this initiative would be of immense help to the inmates of the Vridh Ashram, who will now have access to completely free services. At the same time, members of the general public can also avail the facilities at a nominal registration fee of just Rs. 20/-.
The Physiotherapy Centre and Dispensary will function daily from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except on Sundays. This timing has been fixed keeping in mind the convenience of the elderly inmates as well as visiting patients from nearby areas. The facility is expected to provide regular medical consultation and free medicines, physiotherapy sessions, and basic healthcare support to those who otherwise may not be able to afford such services.
On this occasion, Shri R.S. Gupta, Managing Trustee of the Savitri Devi Jagiri Lal Charitable Trust, along with Shri Sham Anand, Manager of the Free Dispensary and Physiotherapy Centre, highlighted the Trust’s long-standing contribution towards humanitarian causes and community service.
They reiterated their resolve to continue supporting initiatives that directly benefit weaker and marginalized sections of society.
Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary accompanied by Shri Vijay Gupta, Jt.Secretary, R.C.Vaid and SatPal Sharma, MCMs of the Home for the Aged & Infirm, also briefed the distinguished guests about the various welfare activities being undertaken by the Home in service of senior citizens.
He underlined that the addition of physiotherapy and medical facilities will significantly enhance the quality of life of the elderly residents who often face age-related ailments and mobility issues.
The Chief Guests and other dignitaries present on the occasion appealed to the public to make the best use of this valuable facility, so that the vision behind its establishment—service to humanity and care for the suffering—can be fulfilled in the true spirit.
