Jammu, Oct 2: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan commended the central government’s decision to celebrate the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ across India.
He said that this move would further strengthen the spirit of patriotism among the citizens of the country.
Balbir stated that ‘Vande Mataram’ is not just a song, but a living symbol of India’s freedom struggle. It served as a source of inspiration for thousands of freedom fighters who sacrificed everything for the country’s independence. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet for deciding to commemorate the 150th anniversary of this historic song as a national celebration, calling it a great tribute to the sacrifices of the past.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the programmes to be organized in this regard would give people an opportunity to understand the historical legacy, cultural significance, and the role of ‘Vande Mataram’ in the freedom movement.
