Poonch, Oct 5: As part of its ongoing civil outreach efforts, the Indian Army organized an Awareness Lecture on Government Schemes at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Gursai Moori. The event aimed to educate students and local youth about various Central and State Government welfare schemes designed to promote education, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities in rural areas. The lecture highlighted flagship initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, Skill India Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Agniveer Scheme, among others.
The focus was on enhancing awareness, encouraging participation and guiding the youth on eligibility criteria and application procedures to avail these benefits. A total of 74 students, 8 teachers and local community members attended the session with great enthusiasm.
The speaker emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and nation-building through awareness and active participation in developmental programs. Students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for connecting them with information that can directly shape their future.
The school faculty appreciated the Indian Army’s consistent efforts in organizing such meaningful initiatives that strengthen the Indian Army–civilian bond and promote social welfare in remote border regions. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, fostering a positive exchange between Army personnel and the youth of Gursai Moori.
