early times report

Jammu, Oct 5: On the occasion of World Teachers' Day, senior social activist and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan extended his greetings to teachers and said that teachers are not merely providers of knowledge but play a crucial role in shaping the lives of students. He stated that through their experience, guidance, and inspiration, teachers show students the right path and lead them toward becoming self-reliant citizens.
He emphasized that every student should fully respect their teachers, follow the path shown by them, and learn from their experiences in all aspects of life.
Teachers do not just impart bookish knowledge, but they also teach life values – such as discipline, honesty, dedication, and tolerance.
Balbir Ram Rattan further said that in today’s changing society, the role of teachers has become even more significant.
As technological changes occur all around and social and cultural challenges increase, it is the teacher who equips students with the understanding and capability to face them. Teachers not only educate children but also inspire them to think, understand, and play their roles responsibly in society.
He stressed that teachers are the foundation of society. They are not confined to just a classroom or school but shape the future of the entire nation. Their contribution is invaluable and should never be overlooked.
He also urged teachers to adopt new technologies, digital tools, and modern teaching methods so that students can keep pace with the times and compete at a global level.
Balbir Ram Rattan appealed to students not to see their teachers merely as academic guides but to regard them as life mentors, and by adopting the ideals shown by them, strive to become better human beings.
