After the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, the Central and the Union Territory Government have laid emphasis on empowering the youth and making them understand that growth of J&K is directly linked with their progress. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has reiterated on many occasions that youth have a mission of transforming J&K and the nation and for that they have to remain steadfast in their resolve. J&K youth have a mission to accomplish. The government is putting in every possible effort to ensure that they have the right environment to become the most talented scholars, scientists and innovators. The post-2019 era has, therefore, been marked by policies aimed at converting youthful energy into creative and productive enterprise. From skill development programmes and self-employment schemes to startup incubators and digital literacy initiatives, every effort has been made to create a supportive ecosystem. These initiatives are designed not just to provide jobs but to inspire entrepreneurship, research, and innovation. The government’s aim is to see every young person in J&K as a potential scholar, scientist, or innovator — a force of positive change capable of contributing to India’s progress on the global stage. Over the past few years, J&K has seen a surge in youth-led enterprises, participation in national competitive exams, and growing engagement in sports, culture, and technology. The establishment of world-class educational institutions, upgraded universities, and research centres is helping nurture a new generation of thinkers and achievers. Programs like Mission Youth and Skill Development Initiatives are bringing a sense of purpose and opportunity to young men and women who once felt marginalized from the mainstream of national progress. Today, as the region moves towards stability and prosperity, it is the young minds that are scripting its new story. Their success stories in civil services, technology, sports, and entrepreneurship reflect a silent revolution unfolding across the valley and the mountains. The message is clear: J&K’s growth and peace will sustain only when its youth are empowered to dream, act, and achieve. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s vision thus captures the essence of a new Jammu and Kashmir — one where the youth are not mere beneficiaries of development, but its driving force. Their mission is clear, and their moment is now. |
