GGM Science College shines at tournament Convoquer 2025 held at IIT Jammu

Jammu, Oct 7: GGM Science College, Jammu once again brought laurels to the institution by showcasing remarkable performances at the Tournament Convoker 2025 held at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu from 2nd to 6th October 2025. The tournament witnessed participation from various reputed institutions across the region, with students competing in multiple sports disciplines.
Women’s Chess Team from GGM Science College displayed outstanding strategic skills and team coordination throughout the event. The team comprising Merryleen Kour, Manvi Sharma, Sakshi Verma, and Neelakshi Rana secured the Silver Medal, demonstrating intellectual prowess and commendable teamwork against tough competition.
In the field of Athletics, the college athletes delivered stellar performances across multiple events. Adil Ali Zakir won the Silver Medal in Javelin Throw, showcasing his strength and precision. Taruvar Sharma clinched the Bronze Medal in Shot Put, while Suraj Kumar displayed tremendous endurance and determination to bag the Silver Medal in the 5 km Race.
The Principal of GGM Science College, Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, congratulated the winning teams and individual medalists for their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship. He appreciated their efforts in upholding the sporting spirit and bringing glory to the college at such a reputed platform.
Dr. Rahul Kait, Convener, Sports Committee, expressed immense pride in the achievements of the students. He highlighted that such events not only promote physical fitness but also foster discipline, perseverance, and teamwork among students. He further acknowledged the support of the college administration and faculty in motivating students to excel in both academics and sports.
