Darhal, Oct 7: A one-day Free Medical Camp was successfully organized at Govt. Degree College (GDC) Darhal, drawing an overwhelming response from the local community. The event was a collaborative initiative of the NSS Wing of the College and K.D. Hospital Rajouri, held under the able guidance of Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal, GDC Darhal. The medical camp aimed to extend essential healthcare facilities to the people of the Darhal region, particularly those who have limited access to regular medical services. A large number of patients, including men, women, and senior citizens, availed the opportunity for free consultations, diagnosis, and distribution of medicines. The camp witnessed active participation and dedicated efforts from the college faculty and medical professionals. The key organizing members included Dr. Ghulam Abass, Dr. M. Saleem Wani, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Shakeel Kataria, Mohd Shakoor ,Dr. Ata ur Rehman, Dr. Beenish, and Dr. Shahid Mughal, who coordinated the event seamlessly and ensured its smooth functioning. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such outreach programs in bridging the gap between healthcare services and rural populations. He lauded the efforts of the NSS volunteers and the supporting medical team for their spirit of service and social responsibility. The NSS Programme Officer Dr Mohd Akhlaq and volunteers played a crucial role in managing the event, guiding patients, and ensuring proper arrangements throughout the day. The collaborative spirit between the college and K.D. Hospital Rajouri was widely appreciated by the attendees, who expressed gratitude for the timely medical assistance and awareness provided through the camp.
