International Girl Child Day celebrated at Govt Model HSS Hiranagar

JAMMU, Oct 11: Today on 11 October,2025 International Girl Child Day was organised in Govt Model Hr Sec School Hiranagar on the theme 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padao' in collaboration with Social Welfare Department. MLA Hiranagar Advocate Vijay Kumar Sharma was the chief guest of the programme. This scheme was launched by The Hon'ble Prime Minister Narender Modi ji on 22 January 2015 at Panipat, Haryana in order to give a boost to the declining sex ratio.
Various baby care kits were distributed among the new born babies by the chief guest, District Coordinator Mission Shakti and TSWO HIranagar.
Moreover, prizes were also distributed among the top ten meritorious girl students of the School who performrd extra-ordinarily in the field of education , Arts and Crafts, Sports etc . Hon'ble MLA Hiranagar emphasized that Girl child education must be ensured by all the sections of society so that a unified progress of all be achieved. A skit was also performed by the Students of HSS Hiranagar with the theme Beti Bachao,Beti Padao' and spreaded the message of Girl Child Empowerment by providing equal opportunities in all spheres of progressive areas. Through a Poem and Speech, the participant Namely Kaberi Sharma and Palak Sharma of class 12th respectively expressed their views over the importance and contribution of girls in the development of nation.
The Incharge Principal of the school Sh Surinder Kumar emphasised on the importance of girls in the society. He spoke that women are the most important part of any community. If they remain or are kept behind the community or society can not progress effectively. Dr Parveen Bala held the dise as announcer. The programme was cultimated with the vote of thanks presented by TSWO Sh Manjit Kumar. Other members who were present on the occasion included Tehsildar Hiranagar Anup Sharma, TSWO Hiranagar Manjit Kumar, District Coordinator Mission Shakti Itika Mahajan, ZICC Sunita Kumari, School staff members including Kuldeep Kumar, D P Angral, Jyoti Devi, Amit Gandhi, Sonia Angral , Devinder Singh Rajwal etc.
