DYSS gears up to host 69th NSG in Taekwondo, TT in Jammu | | | early times report
JAMMU, Oct 12: After the smooth and successful conduct of the 69th National School Games in the discipline of U-19 Boys Football, and with the Wushu Championship scheduled later this month in Srinagar, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) is now gearing up to host the 69th National School Games in the disciplines of Taekwondo and Table Tennis in Jammu. The prestigious sporting event is set to commence in Jammu from November 9, 2025. Under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services and Sports, comprehensive preparations are underway to ensure a flawless event. To review the ongoing arrangements, Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, and Organising Secretary of the Games, chaired a review meeting attended by Megha Baogia, Deputy Director (Planning/Activities) and Convener of Accommodation and Mess Committees, Section Officer Shivnandan Singh Mankotia, along with conveners of various other committees entrusted with specific organizational responsibilities. During the meeting, all officers and conveners were directed to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, professionalism, and commitment, ensuring that every aspect of the Games reflects excellence and efficiency. Detailed deliberations were held on logistics and hospitality arrangements — particularly focusing on the comfort and convenience of the visiting teams in terms of accommodation, food, transportation, medical aid, and other allied facilities. The Organising Secretary said the Director General Youth Services and Sports has emphasized the importance of seamless coordination between committees and adherence to the highest standards of sports management. Every Committee was urged to strive for perfection in execution and to deliver an event that sets a new benchmark for organizing national-level school sporting competitions in Jammu and Kashmir. With meticulous planning, teamwork, and enthusiasm, the DYSS aims to showcase Jammu and Kashmir as a premier destination for national sporting events, reflecting both sporting excellence and administrative competence. It is pertinent to mention here that around 250 teams with a total participation of over 4000 athletes across the nation are going to take part in all the four sporting disciplines being hosted by J&K this season. |
