Jammu, Oct 12: hri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, has retained the ranking position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026 by securing a place in the band of 801–1000. This recognition places SMVDU among the leading academic institutions globally and reflects its growing reputation for academic excellence and research innovation. These achievements underscore SMVDU’s continuous investment in high-quality teaching, robust research infrastructure, and international academic partnerships. Collectively, these rankings highlight the university’s multidisciplinary strengths and its growing contribution to academia, research, innovation and societal development. It is pertinent to mention that in the World University Rankings 2026, SMVD University has improved on the parameters of Teaching from 23.6 to 29.4. On the Research Environment parameter, there is an improvement from 17.5 to 18.5, whereas on the parameters of Industry and International outlook there is sharp increase in this year Rankings.
