KUPWARA, Oct 12: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today visited Halmatpora to inspect the ongoing works related to Water Supply Scheme (WSS). The scheme is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), aimed at providing functional household tap connections (FHTCs) to every household in the area. The main components of the project include two borewells with pump rooms, electromechanical components for single-stage lift, two reservoirs of 30,000-gallon capacity each, and a comprehensive pipe network covering both the rising main and distribution system. Once completed, the scheme will benefit approximately 3,746 residents of Pir Mohallah and Sofi Mohallah by ensuring a sustainable and safe drinking water supply. During the visit, the DDC inspected the ongoing borewell work at Pir Mohallah Halmatpora Hayhama, and reviewed the pace and quality of development works being executed in the area. The residents of Halmatpora also raised the demand for macadamization of local roads and repair of animal husbandry building. The DDC gave a patient hearing to the public respectives and assured that necessary works will be taken up on priority to address the developmental needs of the area. The DDC was accompanied by officers and Officials from the Jal Shakti Department. |
