Samba Police solved Highway Project violent attack, loot case 6 arrested | | |  early times report
Samba, Oct 15: Continuing its decisive crackdown on anti-social elements indulging in violence and theft, Samba Police has successfully solved a major case of attack, loot and vandalism at a National Highway Construction site falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana. On October 13, 2025, a written complaint was lodged by one Sudhir S/o Manphool, authorized representative of M/s Shivalaya Construction Limited, regarding a violent incident that occurred during the intervening night of October 12-13, 2025, at Chainage No. 506+000 near Village Sarore. According to the complaint, a mob of 10–15 unidentified individuals attacked the company’s project site around 12:15 AM, pelting stones and assaulting on-duty guards and workers with sticks and rods. The attackers damaged CCTV cameras, lighting systems, vehicles and other site infrastructure, including a Camper vehicle (Registration No. JK21K-1954), and also looted valuable construction materials. Acting swiftly, a case under FIR No. 168/2025 was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and investigation started. During the course of investigation, main six (06) accused persons were apprehended for their involvement in the incident. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sadiq Ali S/o Teg Ali, Mushtaq Ahmed S/o Kasam Din, Gulab Din @ Gaya S/o Murid Ali, Mohd Farooq @ Bothu S/o Laiqat Ali, Bagh Hussain S/o Laiqat Ali (all residents of Sarore Adda, Bari Brahmana) and Mohd Shareef S/o Mohd Mirza R/o Phallan Mandal district Jammu, presently residing at Sarore Adda. During sustained questioning, accused Mushtaq Ahmed, Gulab Din @ Gaya, Mohd Farooq @ Bothu, and Mohd Shareef confessed to their involvement in the crime and revealed the concealment locations of the stolen goods. Acting on their disclosure, Samba Police recovered a substantial quantity of stolen construction materials from the residence of Mohd Farooq @ Bothu. More recoveries were made based on disclosures by accused Mohd Sadiq and Bagh Hussain from a concealed site near Shamshan Ghat, Sarore Adda. Further investigation of the case is going on. The prompt and coordinated action by the Police team led by SHO PS Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, resulted in the swift arrest of accused persons and recovery of looted property within days of the incident.
