DIG concludes Vigilance Awareness Week at Regional Ayurveda Research Institute

JAMMU, Nov 2: The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Jammu, under the aegis of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, successfully concluded “Vigilance Awareness Week 2025” in alignment with the Central Vigilance Commission’s nationwide observance from October 27 to November 2, 2025, under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, JSK Range, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and emphasized the crucial role of collective responsibility in eradicating corruption and strengthening ethical governance.
He highlighted the need for every citizen, especially government officers, to uphold honesty and fairness in their professional conduct. The concluding event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing enlightenment and knowledge, followed by a devotional rendition of Dhanvantari Vandana, honouring the deity of Ayurveda and medicine. Awards and certificates were distributed among the winners by the chief guest during the ceremony.
In his address, Dr Harbans Singh, the Officer-in-Charge, RARI Jammu, thanked the Chief Guest and appreciated the active participation of staff members in making the program successful.
Dr Singh emphasized that integrity and honesty are the cornerstones of good governance and citizen trust. He highlighted the importance of collective respon sibility in eliminating corruption from all spheres of public life and commended RARI Jammu for proactively supporting the Central Vigilance Commission’s campaign.
Earlier, Dr. Lalita Sharma, Research Officer (Ay) and Nodal Officer for Programme and Dr. Himani Khanjuria, Consultant (Ay) welcomed the dignitaries and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to conducting all official duties with transparency and impartiality. She also told that the week-long observance at RARI Jammu involved a series of activities focused on promoting integrity and ethical practices among staff and researchers. Participants took a formal pledge to uphold honesty, professionalism, and accountability across all institutional functions, in alignment with the broader objectives of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and the Government of India. Dr Poonam Mohod, Research Officer (Ay) reiterated the institute’s dedication to maintaining transparency in all official processes. She also told the various activities including awareness lectures, debates and essay competitions were planned to sensitize employees and the public about ethical work culture. The event reflected RARI Jammu’s continued efforts to integrate ethical governance principles alongside its scientific and healthcare responsibilities, contributing to a culture of integrity in public administration. The concluding program highlighted the role of vigilance in institutional accountability and ethical governance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Talat Anjum, Research Officer (Botany) expressing gratitude to the dignitaries for their guidance and support in strengthening vigilance awareness among public institutions.
