Jammu, Nov 10: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu, inaugurated the thirteenth batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program on 10th Nov at Nyaya Classroom, Vedanta, MDP Centre, Jagti. Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu's commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, graced the inaugural ceremony. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony. The program consisted of 22 participants from different parts of the country. This unique residential training program, scheduled from 10th Nov to 14th Nov 2025, is designed to cultivate leadership capabilities among educators at various levels, creating a pool of potential leaders ready to drive generational transitions. Delivered by IIM Jammu’s faculty, the program aims to help institutions enhance their leadership potential. The inaugural ceremony was also graced by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research; Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE & C), IIM Jammu; Prof. P. P Maheshwari, Program Director, IIM Jammu; and Dr. Rambalak Yadav, Program Director, IIM Jammu. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed the participants and highlighted that the program, organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to identify and nurture academic leadership. He emphasized that the initiative equips faculty with essential leadership skills, fosters future-ready academic leaders, and promotes a positive institutional culture. He noted that the program serves as a valuable platform for peer learning, collaboration, and professional networking, reaffirming that leadership is key to driving educational transformation and realizing India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, as per the clarion call by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji. He encouraged participants to engage actively, collaborate on joint research with IIM Jammu faculty, and reflect on their learning outcomes. In his address, he reaffirmed the institute’s strong collaborations with IIT Jammu and AIIMS Jammu, highlighting the unique academic programs run as part of these partnerships and reiterating IIM Jammu’s commitment to nation-building through education and innovation. Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, said that the Institute values collaboration with like-minded individuals to create a vibrant learning ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of cross-cultural exchange and sharing best practices across institutions. Highlighting the collective role of faculty in IIM Jammu’s growth, he urged participants to be active, authentic learners, co-create knowledge, and share their learnings with colleagues to multiply impact and make the experience truly enriching. Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, said that the program is a major initiative focused on individual leadership enhancement. He provided an overview of the Executive Education and Consultancy vertical at IIM Jammu, highlighting its role in delivering impactful learning and industry engagement. Emphasizing the diversity among participants, he encouraged blending classroom, collaborative, and experiential learning for holistic development. Prof. P. P. Maheshwari, Program Director, IIM Jammu, said that although IIM Jammu is among the youngest IIMs in the country, it aspires to be in the top tier. As the fifth among the new-generation IIMs, it aims to set high benchmarks in management education. He added that each participant is a leader in their own right, and the program is designed to foster continuous learning, before, during, and after sessions. Coming from diverse industry backgrounds, participants bring valuable insights, and he encouraged everyone to engage actively and feel free to reach out for guidance. Participants introduced themselves and shared their reflections on the program, discussing their experiences and expectations. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Rambalak Yadav, Program Director, IIM Jammu, followed by the national anthem. The thirteenth batch is comprised of 22 participants from institutes across India and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The curriculum is structured into four key themes: leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives. Over five days, participants will engage in lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises, ensuring the active application of concepts. Following the inaugural ceremony, participants toured the institute’s campus, gaining insights into its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The participants were also given a tour of Manthan (Senate Hall), the world-class Nalanda Library, Vishrantika Faculty Lounge and smart classrooms. The Nurturing Future Leadership Program aligns with the Malaviya Mission’s vision of empowering educators and leaders to shape India’s educational landscape, reinforcing IIM Jammu’s position as a hub for leadership and innovation.
