| GDC Ramnagar organises Seminar on “History, Significance of Vande Mataram” | | |  early times report
Ramnagar, Nov 10: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramnagar, as part of the commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram, organised a seminar on the theme “History and Significance of Vande Mataram” under the guidance of Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal. A total of ten students from different streams participated in the seminar and presented their views on the historical background, literary essence, and national significance of the song Vande Mataram. The participants highlighted the role of the song in India’s freedom struggle and its enduring influence as a symbol of unity and patriotism. The event was adjudged by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Prof. Manmohan Singh, and Prof. Tanmeet Kour. Among the participants, Preeti Devi (Sem V) secured the first position, Veenakshi (Sem III) bagged the second position, and Joginder Paul (Sem I) stood third. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit and the participants for their insightful presentations. He remarked that Vande Mataram is not merely a song but a source of inspiration that continues to evoke a sense of national pride and collective identity. He encouraged the students to uphold the values of patriotism and unity in their lives. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Ritika Mahajan (NSS Programme Officer) and Prof. Sanjay Malhotra (HOD, Commerce). The event was graced with the presence of Dr. Puyesh Kant Sharma, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Parminder, and Prof. Romesh Kumar. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the NSS Programme Officer.
