Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 10: BJP spokesperson and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan said that in India's freedom struggle, 'Vande Mataram' was not merely a song but a powerful call that ignited the flame of patriotism in the hearts of Indians. He said that this immortal song united millions of Indians and gave them the strength to fight for liberation from British rule. Balbir Ram Rattan said that 'Vande Mataram', composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, gave confidence and courage to freedom fighters at a time when the nation was gripped by despair and fear. "This song was not just a combination of words, but a sacred chant that awakened the spirit of freedom in every citizen through the worship of Mother India," he said. Balbir explained that whether it was the movement against the partition of Bengal or the new wave of national awakening that arose after 1857, 'Vande Mataram' became the soul of every movement. The slogan echoed from the mouths of freedom fighters and became a symbol of strong voice against the British rulers. Balbir Ram Rattan emphasized that today's youth must also understand the historical and emotional significance of this song. Our ancestors sacrificed their lives inspired by it. Now that we are free, we must recognize the value of this freedom and work for the nation's development, unity, and integrity. He further said that 'Vande Mataram' is not merely a patriotic song, but a lasting source of inspiration symbolizing Indian culture, devotion to the motherland, and unity. Balbir appealed to all sections of society to adopt patriotism, discipline, and a sense of duty in their lives so that India continues to move forward on its path to becoming a Vishwaguru (world leader). |
