Reasi, Nov 12: Continuing its sustained drive against absconders and proclaimed offenders, Reasi Police achieved a major success today by apprehending one absconder namely Zaheer Abbas S/O Lal Din R/O Gursai, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch, who had been evading arrest for the last four years.
The said accused had been declared absconder under Section 299 CrPC (now Section 335 BNSS) in case FIR No. 48/2018 U/S 379 RPC and 49/2018 U/S 379 RPC of Police Station Pouni.
The Hon’ble Court of Munsiff JMIC Reasi had issued a warrant against him on 23-04-2022 after the challans of the said cases were produced in his absence.
The accused had deliberately avoided his arrest despite repeated efforts by police.
Acting on specific information, a dedicated team of Police Station Pouni apprehended the absconder today. He will be produced before the Hon’ble Court for further legal proceedings.
District Police Reasi, under the supervision of SSP Reasi Sh. Paramvir Singh, JKPS, continues its drive to trace and apprehend absconders to uphold the rule of law and ensure timely justice.
