Samba, Nov 17: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Samba,in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, SPPND GDC Samba, conducted an awareness programme on the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 at SPPND Government Degree College, Samba.
The programme aimed to inform students about the rights and welfare measures available to senior citizens and to promote responsible social attitudes among youth.
The college, under the leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Meeru Abrol, continues to encourage initiatives that strengthen legal awareness and civic responsibility. Students and faculty participated enthusiastically in the event.
The programme was coordinated by the Department of Political Science. Assistant Professor Ritika (Head, Department of Political Science), Dr. Rahul Verma (Lecturer), and Dr. Mohika Bavoria (Lecturer) were present and appreciated the efforts of DLSA Samba for conducting a meaningful and informative awareness session for the students.
The interactive discussion held at the end of the session further enhanced student understanding of the Act and the importance of upholding the dignity and welfare of senior citizens.
