Early Times Report DODA, Nov 17: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Sh Sandeep Mehta, JKPS today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the progress of under-investigation UAPA cases and the status of ongoing court proceedings across the district. All Gazetted Officers (GOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) participated in the meeting. Officers stationed at District Headquarters attended the review physically, while those posted in outlying police stations joined virtually, ensuring seamless participation from every unit of the district. During the meeting, the SSP carried out a detailed case-wise review of all ongoing UAPA investigations, emphasizing timely completion of mandatory legal procedures, meticulous evidence collection, and effective coordination with Special Public Prosecutors. Officers were directed to uphold the highest standards of investigation, strictly adhere to legal protocols, and ensure compliance with all court-related deadlines. Given the sensitivity and seriousness of UAPA cases, the SSP stressed the importance of accuracy in documentation, observance of due process, and lawful handling of all digital and material evidence. Special focus was laid on witness preparedness, timely filing of charge sheets, and the elimination of procedural delays that may adversely affect prosecution. The meeting also served as a platform for sharing best practices, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and updating field officers on recent legal developments and judicial expectations pertaining to UAPA cases. Reiterating Doda Police's commitment to fair, transparent, and efficient investigation, the SSP underlined the district police's resolve to ensure accountability, professionalism, and operational uniformity in all matters related to national security. |
