| Geography Department conducts educational field tour to historic Manwal Temple Complex | | | early times report
UDHAMPUR, Nov 21: In a direct move to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world geographical applications, the Department of Geography at Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur executed a mandatory One-Day Educational Field Tour to the historic Manwal Temple Complex (Archaeological site). This academic activity, integral to the curriculum for B.A./B.Sc. Semester I and VII students under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, strategically focused on the practical study of physical features of the region, historical and pilgrimage tourism. Students were able to analyze the signi of geographical factors that influenced the cultural and structural development of the ancient site and its pilgrimage circuits. This crucial field visit was organized under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania and meticulously overseen by H.O.D. Prof. Pooja Bharti. Academic guidance for the students was provided by accompanying faculty members Dr. Poonam Bharti, Ms. Divya Sharma, and Mr. Roouf Ahmad Mala, with logistical support managed by Mr. Balbir (Lab Bearer). Safe transportation was ensured by the professional driving skills of Mr. Sanjay Kumar and Mr. Subhash Chander. The field visit successfully provided the students with crucial hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world geographical applications.
