UDHAMPUR, Nov 21: On 19.11.2025, Police Station Ramnagar received a written complaint from Kartar Chand S/o Sh. Massu R/o Prey, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, stating that, he had withdrawn ?50,000 from his bank account. As he stepped out of the bank premises, an unknown person snatched his handbag containing the said cash and fled from the spot.
Taking cognizance of the matter, a case FIR No. 172/2025 U/S 304 BNS was registered at PS Ramnagar, and investigation was set into motion.
A special police team led by the SHO PS Ramnagar was constituted to trace out the accused person. During the investigation, with the help of CCTV footage, human intelligence and technical assistance, the accused was identified as Vijay Singh @ Pickel S/o Sh. Joginder Singh R/o Sewna Rang, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur
After sustained and meticulous efforts, the police team successfully arrested the accused. Out of the stolen ?50,000, an amount of ?47,450 has been recovered from his possession.
