Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Nov 25: Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur successfully organized a Hackathon on "Modern Technological Ways to Prevent Drug Abuse" as part of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide campaign aimed at combating substance abuse through awareness, innovation, and youth participation. The event brought together young innovators and technophiles to explore and present modern, technology-driven solutions to address the rising challenge of drug abuse in society. Three teams participated in the Hackathon, showcasing creative prototypes, digital tools, and awareness-driven technological models designed to support prevention strategies. The program commenced with an insightful introduction by Prof. Ritu Bhagat, (Associate Professor, Dept. of Education) who highlighted the urgent need to engage youth in creating sustainable, tech-enabled interventions for a drug-free nation. She emphasized how emerging technologies-including AI-based monitoring systems, mobile applications, and community-driven digital platforms-can play a pivotal role in early detection, awareness dissemination, and rehabilitation support. After a rigorous evaluation by the judging panel which comprised of Prof. Mamta Gupta (Associate Professor, Dept. of Commerce) and Prof Ritu Bhagat (Associate Professor, Dept. of Education), Sharwan Kumar Mathur, Shubam Verma & Lalit Kumar Sharma from B.A. Semester III were declared as winners of the Hackathon. The entire event was smoothly and effectively coordinated by Dr. Manoj Heer (Local Institute Coordinator), who ensured meaningful participation, fair evaluation, and constructive engagement among the competing teams. The Hackathon concluded with words of encouragement to all participants and a reaffirmation of the institution's commitment to supporting the national mission of creating a drug-free India. |
