Jammu, Nov: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, under the leadership of Sh. Shantmanu (IAS), Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary cum Director, JKSCERT, and the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division, concluded a 4-Day Capacity Building Programme on Strategies and Effective Implementation of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) for Key Resource Persons (KRPs) from ten districts of Jammu Division. Organised by the Department of ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education ) -- AUII from 24th to 27th November 2025, the programme aimed to empower educators with essential pedagogical skills required to achieve the national FLN goals envisioned under NEP 2020. The ceremonial inaugural began with the lighting of the traditional lamp, symbolising the collective pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.This was followed by a brief concept note presented by the Coordinator, Ms. Kamini Verma, outlining the aims, objectives, and expected outcomes of the programme. The Worthy Joint Director, SCERT Divisional Office Jammu, formally inaugurated the programme and addressed the participants with an inspiring message, emphasising SCERT’s commitment to improving classroom practices, strengthening academic support systems, and equipping teachers with child-centred and evidence-based pedagogical strategies. Spanning four days, the programme was marked by extensive sequence of deliberations on Parakh Report Card, an Overview of Foundational Literacy, Emergent Literacy, Oral Language Development, Word Recognition & Decoding, Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, Foundational Numeracy, Pre-Number Concepts, Number Sense & Counting, Place Value & Number Operations, Shapes, Space & Measurement, Patterns, Data Handling, and Mathematical Communication. These academic sessions were facilitated by expert resource persons, including Ms. Jaswinder Kour, Sr. Lect., SRML Parade; Ms. Shashi Bala, Master, GMS Lehnu; Ms. Geeta Bharti, DRG, DIET Rajouri; Mr. Rakesh Chobber; Mr. Anil Sharma; Mr. Rohit Sharma; Ms. Arsh Kour; Ms. Neeraj Jamwal; Ms. Shazia Kousar; Ms. Kamini Verma; and Ms. Meena Thakur. The smooth conduct of the programme was ensured through the dedicated efforts of the organising committee constituted for various allocated tasks. Mr. Vinod Bhat, Head, AU-II andDr.Sanjeevani, Head, ECCE,capably steered and monitored all the proceedings with utmost diligence.Ms. Neeraj Jamwal and Ms. Rakhshanda extended their valuable support as Associate Coordinators. Mr. Anil Sharma and Mr Yugal Sharma served as the Technical Coordinators, while , Ms. Shazia Kousar, Ms. Neeraj Jamwal, Ms. Rukhsana Gulbadan, Ms Monika Dogra, Dr. Bhuvi, Ms. Sonika, and Ms. Sana efficiently managed their assigned roles to ensure the successful execution of the programme. Whereas Ms Meena Thakur moderated the proceedings of the whole programme.
