Jammu, Nov 27: PSPS GCW Gandhinagar proudly hosted its annual Investiture Ceremony today on 27th November2025, a time-honored tradition that formally bestows authority and responsibility upon the newly elected members of the College Presidium. The solemn event, held at the College auditorium was attended by worthy Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra; Convenor, Students Welfare Commiittee Dr. Rabia Javed, Members of Students Welfae Commiittee, Newly elected Presidium, faculty, proud parents and esteemed guests.
The ceremony marked the official handover of leadership roles, designed to inculcate a sense of duty and commitment among the students to uphold the values and motto of the institution. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest madam Principal Dr. Geetanjali Andotra who inspired the young leaders with their address.
Key highlights of the ceremony included Presentation of the Presidium. The elected student leaders were called to the stage to receive their official badges and sashes from worthy Principal Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, Convenor Students Welfare Committee Dr. Rabia Javed and other esteemed Members of Students Welfare Committee. Former President and former Headgirl too shared thier experiences.
Principal of the college Dr. Geetanjali Andotra in her inspiring address motivated the new officeholders to be agents of positive change and to lead by example, encouraging them to be an inspiration for their peers. The College Principal, congratulated the new presidium members and emphasized the trust and confidence the institution has reposed in them, wishing them success in their endeavours.
The Oath of Office Led by the newly appointed College President, Ms. Lavanya Jamwal, the entire presidium took a solemn oath, pledging to fulfill their duties with integrity, dedication, and honesty, and to work for the betterment of the college community.
The newly Inducted College Presidium for the academic session 2025-26 includes: College President: Ms. Lavanya Jamwal, Vice President: Ms. Shailja Singh, General Secretary: Ms . Kashish Misri, Cultural Secretary: Ms. Arya Sharma, Sports Secretary : Ms. Sona Singh, Treasurer: Ms. Arkashuta Sharma, Discipline Secretary: Ms. Mehak Gupta etc. Students Council Body comprises of total 136 members including 25 executive body members.
Parents of the members of the College Presidium also expressed their views and congratulated newly elected Presidium. Parents of Shailja Singh, Guardians of Sona Singh and Lavanya Jamwal expressed their views and congratulated newly elected Students Council. Welcome address was extended by Dr. Rabia Javed. Proceedings of the event were conducted by prof. Suman Bala. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Major (Prof.) Shivani Sharma . The ceremony concluded with national anthem symbolizing unity and the collective spirit of the institution. After ceremony former presidium members handed over traditional ceremonial torch to new Presidium and the ceremonial procession inside the college premises was taken with great enthusiasm, fervour, honour and dignity. The college community bestows its blessings on the new council and is confident they will work as a cohesive team, accountable for their actions and worthy of the trust placed in them.
