Thannamandi, Nov 27: Department of English and Urdu in collaboration with Shikhshit Bharat/literary Activity Committee organized an Essay Writing Competition on Rights and Duties of Citizens with great enthusiasm and academic spirit as part of the celebrations of constitutional values on Samvidhan Divas. The event was held under the patronage of the Principal, Dr. Farooq Ahmad, who guided the college in observing this significant occasion aimed at fostering constitutional awareness among students. In his address, the Principal emphasized the enduring relevance of constitutional ideals in shaping responsible citizenship. He encouraged students to actively engage in such academic exercises that strengthen their knowledge and commitment toward the nation’s democratic ethos. The competition provided a platform for students to articulate their understanding of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, while also reflecting on the responsibilities of citizens in safeguarding democratic values. Certificates of merit were awarded to the top three positions Mehak Fatima (First Semester) secured First Position, Muneeb ul Rehman (First Semester) secured Second Position and Rukhsana Kouser secured Third Position. The competition was judged by Prof. Rumy Dar, Dr. Mudasir Qadir, and Dr. Mohd Ashrif, who evaluated the essays based on clarity, originality, and depth of understanding. Their insightful remarks motivated the participants to further refine their academic and civic perspectives. The atmosphere resonated with a sense of unity, respect, and commitment toward the guiding principles of the nation. The event concluded with a message underscoring the importance of constitutional literacy and the responsibility of every individual in upholding the spirit of the Constitution.
