Jammu, Nov 27: Shakti Udghosh Foundation and Sewa International jointly launched the Sewa Shakti Sahaas Project in Poonch with the active support from Sewa Bharti and My Bharat, an empowering initiative aimed at training over 100 young women in self-defence techniques and disaster management skills. The project marks a significant step toward strengthening confidence, preparedness, and resilience among girls of the border district. The inaugural event witnessed the esteemed presence of DySP Headquarters Poonch, Shri Neeraj Sharma, who officially launched the program jersey, symbolizing unity, courage. Also present were Adv. Iffi Bazmi, My Bharat officials, Mr. Rajinder Singh (Martial Arts Instructor), and Ms. Anjali Sharma representing Shakti Udghosh Foundation. The Sewa Shakti Sahaas Project builds upon the longstanding record of impactful work by Shakti Udghosh Foundation and Sewa International, both of which have consistently driven initiatives in education, empowerment, safety, and youth development across J&K and the nation. Shakti Udghosh Foundation, under its initiatives, has trained hundreds of girls in strength-building, leadership, and physical preparedness. Sewa International and Sewa Bharti have similarly been instrumental in providing humanitarian services, skill training, and community development across vulnerable regions. Ms. Preeti Choudhary, Convenor of Shakti Udghosh Foundation, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the remarkable enthusiasm shown by the girls of Poonch. She stated that “the courage and eagerness displayed by Poonch’s young women to learn defence and disaster skills is inspiring. Their participation reflects the growing spirit of confidence and self-reliance among the youth of our border districts.” The initiative will run intensive training modules led by expert instructor Mr. Rajinder Singh, covering martial arts basics, personal safety strategies, emergency response techniques, and disaster-readiness drills. With over 100 participants already registered, the project aims not only to impart essential safety skills but also to foster leadership, discipline, and awareness among young women. The collective efforts of Sewa International, Shakti Udghosh Foundation, Sewa Bharti, and My Bharat highlight a unified commitment to community security, youth empowerment, and national resilience.
