AKHNOOR, Nov 28: Government Degree College Akhnoor successfully conducted the Intra-Semester Volleyball Tournament on campus for boys and girls, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students of various semesters. The event was coordinated by the Department of Physical Education with the aim to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the students. The tournament was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Romila Malla Bhat, who encouraged students to actively participate in sports alongside academics for their holistic development. Faculty members and staff from various departments were also present at the inaugural ceremony. Teams from different semesters competed with great energy, discipline, and competitive spirit. After a series of exciting matches, the results were as follows:
Girls' Category
The final match was played between the First Semester Girls' Team and the Fifth Semester Girls' Team. In an exciting contest, the First Semester Girls' Team emerged as the Winners, while the Fifth Semester Girls' Team secured the Runner-Up position.
Boys' Category
The Boys' final also witnessed a spirited performance between the First Semester Boys' Team and the Fifth Semester Boys' Team. Demonstrating impressive skills and determination, the First Semester Boys' Team clinched the Winners' title, with the Fifth Semester Boys' Team finishing as Runners-Up. |
