Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: The Social Welfare Department Udhampur, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai (IAS) and supervision of Kanika Gupta (JKAS), organised an Awareness-cum-Distribution Programme at Government High School Ritti in collaboration with Child Helpline Udhampur. The Sankalp team sensitised students on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Mission Vatsalya sponsorship schemes, the Marriage Assistance Scheme, and other welfare initiatives. A pledge against child marriage was also administered. Child Helpline Case Worker Sandeep briefed students on child rights, the 1098 helpline, and provisions of the Child Marriage Act, urging them to report any abuse or exploitation. Under BBBP and NMBA, the department distributed school bags, wrist watches, educational kits, sling bags, and skipping ropes to the students. Around 80 students participated in the programme. School Principal Sandeep Koul delivered the Vote of Thanks and appreciated the department's efforts in promoting child welfare and awareness. |
