Early Times Report REASI, Nov 28: In a continued drive against illicit liquor smuggling, District Police Reasi today achieved a success when a police team deployed at Balini Check Post intercepted a white Honda Activa Scooty bearing registration number JK14K-5840 and recovered 32 bottles of JK Special Whiskey (250 ml each). During routine checking at the Naka, the police party noticed suspicious movement of the vehicle and subjected it to thorough inspection. The accused has been identified as Rinku Kumar, S/O Chuni Lal, R/O Ward No. 11, Keshav Nagar, Matyal, Katra. The alcohol was being transported illegally without any valid permission. Acting swiftly, the police seized the liquor on the spot. In this regard, FIR No. 318/2025 U/S 223(a) has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered liquor. The entire operation was carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS. SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, JKPS reiterated that District Police Reasi remains committed to curbing illegal activities and ensuring strict enforcement of law and order in the district. |
