Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: The School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), organised a special training session today for the non-teaching staff of the University on the theme "Relevance of Communication Skills at the Workplace." The session was conducted by Dr. Amitash Ojha, an eminent scholar and communication expert from IIT Jammu.The programme aimed to enhance interpersonal, organisational, and professional communication competencies among the administrative workforce. Dr. Ojha highlighted the growing significance of effective communication in diverse and dynamic workplaces. He emphasised clarity, empathy, teamwork, and constructive dialogue as essential tools for improving workflow, efficiency, and institutional harmony. The session also addressed practical challenges faced by employees and offered strategies for overcoming communication barriers.Prof. Supran Sharma, Director, Directorate of Quality Assurance (DQA), appreciated the initiative and underscored the importance of communication skills for strengthening service delivery and organisational efficiency. He highlighted the DQA's commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all departments. The Vice-Chancellor conveyed his appreciation for the programme, noting that continuous skill development is crucial for building a responsive and people-centric administrative ecosystem. The Registrar and other senior officials lauded the collaborative efforts of the School of Languages and Literature and the DQA for organising a meaningful and timely training session.The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anurag Kumar, Head, School of Languages and Literature and assisted by Mr. Amit Gupta, Section Officer, DQA, whose support ensured the smooth coordination and facilitation of the event. Participants actively engaged in the interactive session and expressed that such training greatly contributes to their professional growth and confidence.
