| Audit Diwas celebrated by Office of Principal Accountant General, Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: The Office of the Principal Accountant General, Jammu & Kashmir, successfully celebrated Audit Diwas 2025 at its Jammu office from 17 November to 28 November 2025, organizing a series of meaningful events that underscored the vital role of audit in ensuring transparency, accountability, and good governance. The celebrations commenced with a Yoga Day and a Blood Donation Camp. Throughout the Audit Diwas fortnight, various activities were held involving staff and key stakeholders from the State and the department. These included awareness programs on the significance of audit, an Audit Run, a Cleanliness Drive, and Plantation Activities, reflecting the department's commitment to social responsibility and environmental consciousness. The concluding cultural ceremony was held on 28 November 2025 at CSIR-IIIM, Canal Road, Jammu. The event commenced with National Anthem, followed by Deep Parjawalan and Saraswati Vandana, setting a traditional and graceful tone for the program. A range of cultural performances followed, featuring participants from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and staff members of the Pr. AG's office. Mementoes were presented to all participants in recognition of their contributions. The occasion was graced by Sham Lal Sharma, Chairman, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the J&K Legislative Assembly, who attended as the Chief Guest, along with other esteemed dignitaries. The event was presided over by Shri J.P.N Singh Principal Accountant General J&K. In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the indispensable role of audit in promoting accountability and ensuring proper utilization of public resources in the current governance landscape. He appreciated the efforts of the audit fraternity in safeguarding public financial management. The Principal Accountant General, in his remarks, underlined the growing importance of audit as a cornerstone of democratic governance and fiscal integrity. He highlighted the need for adopting advanced audit methodologies, leveraging data-driven insights, and fostering continuous capacity building to effectively address emerging challenges in public financial administration. He also highlighted the changes reflected in working model of the department completely digitization of pension functions. The celebration of Audit Diwas 2025 concluded on a positive and inspiring note, reaffirming the department's dedication to strengthening transparency and accountability in public governance. |
